Life ends,love is endless

'What did you say her name was?'asked Big Al.
'Mona' replied Guido.'She was something,I tell ya.'
'She was looking for old man Chino ,he had this ad put to the newspaper to rent his lousy basement...she said she wanted to find a quiet place where she could be alone with her thoughts' he snorted.'Imagine that.Alone with some rats is more like it.Anyway I saw her wandering about across the street from the restaurant and I figured she's pretty messed up,maybe she could use some of that famous cheese pie.And I sat with her while she ate.'

'I got to say,I'm quite suprised you are socializing this much lately' sad big Al.'Was she any good?'
Guido rolled his eyes and sighed. He didn't know why he bothered telling big Al about Mona, his reactions were as predictable as the horrific effects of a greasy mcDonalds burger on the intestine.
'Better than your mom' he ended up replying, while walking out of the kitchen.

Big Al had him behave like a teenage boy,and Guido knew that neither his mind nor body were suited for this.
He headed out of the restaurant once again, and glared at old man Chino's building. That weirdo owned a whole block of flats and was feasting on the infuriatingly high rents he charged, mainly to naive art students, that wanted to live in such a 'classic' building with so much 'character'.Nowhere Inparticular is full of character, thought Guido and smirked.

Once again his lump was turning red, which was a frequent side effect of his so called 'after-work headaches'.He still hadn't figured out what was causing them, but they were usually occuring after work,so here comes the name.(Guido felt that whenever something becomes a part of a man's routine,it deserves a name. It's anyway staying,so you might as well make friends with it.)
For a while whenever the lump got red Guido was trying to imagine possible reasons. At first he tried some rational explanations, like the sting of a bee, possibly stuck there somehow without his knowledge,or maybe a sunburn..but he discovered no sting and for a sunburn there would have to be some sun, which is a rare phenomena in Nowhere Inparticular. So we made a game out of it: he decided that the redness was the lump's way of warning about a coming disaster him or advising him on how to act.At times he would keep his eyes fixed on the pavement while walking, holding the belief that the red lump meant 'you will find some money soon'.Other times he took it as a sign to visit the town's brothels,or the whisky bar across the street from his workplace.
The lump was a guide to his living. That's what Guido chose to make out of it at least.
'Maybe this time it says i should help out Mona' he thought.
She seemed to be a wreck of a person.Looking a lot older than she was (she was Guido's age) and with a lot of trouble on focusing her attention to a single source of information,Mona was actually one of the few people Guido had enjoyed spending his break with.Probably ever.
'Guido'she said."like the man from the 8 1/2 movie" she remembered.
'I don't follow cinema much' said Guido.
'Yeah.Me neither these days. But that movie...I saw myself in him.I think my life will end too in a dance parade of the women I once loved.Or at least I would like that'
And she ate almost half of the pie in a sigle bite.
